Deck Garden
This garden has evolved as the sunlight has changed. When I bought the house there was a very large maple tree that shaded the deck and garden. As you can see from the picture the tree died and became interesting yard art complete with fungus growing on trunk. Today, the tree is only a decaying stump, and the shade garden has become a part shade one. The gravel walkway was created because grass would not grow there. I lined it with liriope which was abundant in the 1950’s garden.
