The Perennial Flower Garden was begun in 2017 with one or more gardens added each year. It surrounds the raised beds and extends to the back of the enclosed garden area. The guiding intent is to showcase flowers that successfully grow in Planting Zone 7 as opposed to having an elaborate landscape design. As the garden expanded over the years, the garden developed into areas that had a primary plant theme, although other varieties of flowers were included in each garden themed area. With the addition of the Monarch Breeding Program, a lot of attention was made on growing pollinator plants that would attract hummingbirds and insect pollinators.
